TIMESASIANews.com | There is nothing wrong with the behavior of the jockey of a head of state in observing the entertainment of football at the 2022 world cup.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte used the victory of the Dutch national team over the United States in the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup on Saturday (Dec, 3) as a joke against American President Joe Biden.

Through tweets on Twitter, Rutte was seen responding to Biden’s tweets trying to encourage the US national team to compete.

In a tweet on the @POTUS account, Biden uploaded a video encouraging the US national team.

“Hey Mr. President, watch out for (the ball),” said one of the stars of the US national team, Tyler Adams, while kicking the ball.

Biden also looked as if he caught Adams’ kick while saying: “This is soccer . Spirit of the USA! You will succeed!”

Biden’s statement referred to a debate that is often the subject of jokes between European and US soccer fans.

This is because Europe has always called football football , while in the US it is known as soccer.

Many netizens also joked that the match between the US vs England and other European clubs in the World Cup would be the “decisive” event whether the terms football or soccer won .

However, Biden’s optimism did not bear fruit. The Dutch national team has qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after beating the US national team 3-1.

The three winning goals for the Netherlands were scored by Memphis Depay, Daley Blind and Denzel Dumfries. While America was only able to score one goal through Haji Wright.

The victory of the Dutch national team was greeted with enthusiasm by residents as well as Prime Minister Mark Rutte. Through his tweets on Twitter, Rutte also made jokes about Biden’s tweets.

“Sorry Joe, but  football wins,” Rutte said jokingly.

Biden also comforted the US national team players by saying they were still making Uncle Sam’s citizens proud.

“Friends, you make us proud. Rise and move forward. For a bright future and 2026 [World Cup] at home,” Biden wrote in response to the US National Team’s tweet on Twitter.

Biden himself continues to monitor the US match in the World Cup. Biden even called the US national team directly ahead of their first pepper at this prestigious sporting event.

When the US beat the Iranian national team in last week’s game, Biden went straight to the White House podium.

“The US beat Iran 1-0. The US [score] one, Iran zero. Game Over! America! America! America!” said Biden to applause. (**)
