TimesAsiaNews.com | Taiwan – Temperatures in parts of Taiwan are expected to rise, starting on Monday, with a warmer southeasterly wind system causing temperatures to soar to 30 degrees Celsius in some areas.
According to the Central Weather Agency (CWA), daytime temperatures will range between 25 and 27 degrees in the northern part of the country, and 28-29 degrees in the central and southern areas, while highs of 30 degrees are expected in some areas of the Kaohsiung mountains in the south.
“However, the temperature will drop sharply on Monday night, which predicts the lowest temperature will reach 15-16 degrees in northern and central Taiwan, and 17-18 degrees in the south,” the CWA said, citing focustaiwan, on Monday (2025/10/3).
The CWA said most of the country will experience clear skies on Monday, but some brief rains are likely in mountainous areas in northern Taiwan and in the Matsu islands.
The CWA has issued a thick fog warning for Tainan and the northern region of the city, as well as for Matsu, which warned that low visibility on Monday in the region could disrupt air traffic.
Warm weather across the country is expected to last until Wednesday, after which moderate weather will cause temperatures to drop slightly on Thursday and Friday and bring light rain, the CWA said.
On Saturday, a cold air mass is likely to arrive, causing temperatures to drop dramatically, especially in the northern regions of the country.
Meanwhile, air quality in most of Taiwan is expected to be quite good on Monday, while an “orange” warning was issued for some areas in Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung, indicating unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups such as the elderly, children, and people with heart or respiratory conditions, according to a statement from Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment. **
